Güímar Valley

If you are staying in the Güímar Valley, you are in one of the most authentic and versatile areas of Tenerife.

This corner of the southeast of the island combines volcanic landscapes, history, winemaking tradition and little-traveled hiking trails.

Here we propose a round day, perfect to connect with the essence of the island and escape from overcrowded and graceless places.

Visit the Basilica of Candelaria and the promenade.

Start the day with a visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria, patron saint of the Canary Islands. The temple, located by the sea, is one of the most symbolic places of the archipelago. In the square you will also see the statues of the ancient Guanche menceys.

Take the opportunity to walk along the promenade and enjoy the coastal atmosphere with a good coffee and churros at the Churrería El Kiosko .

From Candelaria, climb to the peaks of Arafo and stop at the Mirador de Chipeque, one of the most spectacular in Tenerife. If the day is clear, you will have views of Teide and a sea of clouds under your feet.

A few minutes away you can take a walk through the forest of Las Lagunetas. Here you can choose from several trails surrounded by pine trees and laurel forests, ideal to disconnect and enjoy the fresh air. It is a perfect experience for nature lovers, accessible and uncrowded.
